Candida Matterson

After a recent MA in Jewellery and after 35 years secondary school technology teaching Candida returned to making. Potentially the serious aspects of her job in education or perhaps close contact with teenagers for so long a period, coloured her current work themes which all end up with an element of whimsy.

She is drawn to create playful elements within the pieces she makes. Often this involves movement and tactile, hopefully touchable surfaces. She plays with surface texture and her aim is to sponsor an interaction between the observer and the piece. _________________________________
